Welcome to the Association for Psychological Type International in Alabama!

APTi Alabama is an affiliated state chapter of the Association for Psychological Type International (APTi). We are an organization for professional users and others interested in personality type and assessment instruments such as the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI®). Psychological Type refers to the personality type theory of psychiatrist Carl G. Jung. Jung’s theory was adapted by Isabel Briggs Myers and Katherine Briggs who developed the MBTI® inventory.

MISSION

The Association for Psychological Type International-Alabama is an organization for people who use psychological type and its associated assessments in their professional or personal lives. Our purpose is to provide educational opportunities, cultivate relationships within the type community, and promote the ethical use of psychological type and the constructive use of type differences.

WHAT WE DO

We host programs each year that focus on type theory, research or application of type in our everyday lives. Programming may pertain to career or personal counseling, education, management and organizational development, spirituality or personal development. We emphasize professional and ethical use of psychological type and promote the value of understanding ourselves and others.
